Grand Teton Association worked with the Briger-Teton National forest to provide the 2010 Capitol Christmas Tree to Washington DC. The tree, known as the “people’s tree,” came from Wyoming for the first time. Through their efforts, GTA managed all of the donations for The People’s Tree, and helped to select, produce and sell the commemorative merchandise that aided in financing delivering the Tree to Washington D.C. The tree chosen was a 68-foot Engelman Spruce growing in the Pacific Creek area of the forest. The selection of the tree was made by the Capitol Architect to represent the people of Wyoming.
