And come here Robert Righter talk about the new book of August 6th at the Teton County Library.

Robert Righter will talk about his new book, Peaks, Politics, and Passion: Grand Teton National Park Comes of Age. This latest book follows the developments of the park since its creation in 1950. The book discusses such topics as grazing policy, cultural resources, wildlife, education, the growth of the airport, and the on-going debate of which activities are appropriate in the park and which are not. In his talk he will focus on the airport controversy as well as the effort to divest the park of private lands.

Righter’s new work continues the story from his Crucible For Conservation: The Fight for Grand Teton National Park, which described the turbulent clash leading to the 1950 park.
