The Jackson Hole and Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center is an
inter-agency center that provides visitor services, information, and
wildlife-related videos and exhibits.
The bookstore sells books, maps, and guides about the wildlife, history, and geology.
Visitors may obtain information about wildlife viewing, ranger
programs, campground and lodging availability, dining, recreational
opportunities, museums, galleries, and shops.
For the convenience of visitors and locals alike, the following licenses and permits may be acquired:
Yellowstone N.P. fishing permits
Wyoming Game & Fish hunting and fishing licenses
Golden Eagle, Golden Age, & Golden Access passes for admission to federal lands
National Park Service annual passes
USFS firewood and Christmas tree permits (in season)
Alternate permits for hunting elk on the National Elk Refuge
Winter hours for the visitor center are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00
p.m., and during the summer the center is open until 7:00 p.m. The
visitor center is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
